This little character was made in mind for one of my very young patrons, little Ella - she is 4 years old. Although I recommend my classes for ages 6 years and up, Ella is the exception.I usually have a parent attend the workshop with children this young. Ella's older brother and their close friend Park both promised to assist Ella during one of my workshops a few weeks ago and with this I allowed little Ella to attend sans "Mom". This little girl has quite the 'focus" and quite a burgeoning artistic talent. With a little guidance, Ella kept up with the older kids like a pro. It always marvels me, but I have to recognize that age shouldn't always be a "limiting" factor in how far one is developing in certain arts applications. I just know that these workshops can be "fiddly" for some, so that's why I recommend older children to attend. Usually most kids won't sit for more than 20 minutes at a time. Well, not only do my regular children stay the course, but Ella was more than content to sit that long too and "stay the course with the craft" - it was a total surprise to me! However that being said, I know there are musical talents as young as 2 and 3 all over the internet who seem to give the time and attention to their "innate" talent, so why can it not be in 'Sculpture' as well? Looking forward to making this little character with little Ella, her older brother Gabe and good friend Park on Tuesday. There are still spots available to participate - looking forward to "claying" with you!

Pook's L'il Easter Chick
Next Tuesday I will be hosting this Easter Themed workshop from my home. I have recently been offering more workshops from my home and with the use of social media - Facebook - I let everyone know on the various groups in our town when I will be hosting. This has been a phenomenal way to advertise and so far with out cost to me. So many of our town's resident's are on Facebook now that it's been a great advertising tool for Pook.
Pook's Easter Bunny
I have started making Easter Themed things - last week for our Leisure Services we made my little Easter Bunny complete with Carrot - he is always a fun character to make. I had a nice group of 8 kids and I enjoyed helping them put this little Bunny together. The kids really enjoyed making this little guy. I think he is a rather 'fitting" character as we live in the town of Bradford, Ontario - the home of "Gwilly" the Carrot:) Next week I will be hosting another Easter themed character: Pook's L'il Easter Chick - stay tuned!
